Anthony Pellicano ’17 was promoted to the head coach for the women's soccer program over the summer after being named the interim head coach February 1, 2021.
Pellicano assumes all leadership responsibility for the women’s program after they moved through the 2021 spring COVID semester training sessions and exhibition games.
Pellicano, a four-year varsity men’s soccer player, returned to Hilbert College in the fall of 2019 and served as Jenna Castricone’s assistant coach for one season. They were very excited for the fall 2020 campaign, which ultimately was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Pellicano will continue to train with his 2020-21 soccer players and serve as the program’s primary recruiting coordinator.
Pellicano made the jump to the collegiate level after serving as an assistant JV boy’s soccer coach at Lockport High School during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He mainly focused on offensive skill development for his players and prepared strength and conditioning workouts for the team during his two-year stint.
Pellicano has also been part of the Lockport Travel soccer program for the last eight years and has won two BWNYJSL championships and five tournaments in the Buffalo and Rochester area with his U15 and U16 boys’ teams. He will serve as an assistant coaching the Orchard Park U14 Boys select team beginning this winter 2019.
The Lockport High School graduate started 43 of the Hawks 64 games spanning the 2013-2016 seasons. He was credited with 14 shots on goal, netting once his sophomore campaign against Grove City College and served an assist against Cazenovia that same season. He added another assist his final year (Elmira) and was given the team's Coaches Award in 2016.
Pellicano earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Hilbert College in 2017.
