Emma Knoll added Stephen Hurtubise to her coaching staff prior to the 2024-25 season.
Hurtubise is no stranger to college hockey having served as the commissioner for the Northeast Collegiate Hockey League Division I since 2022 after guiding the Canisius University Men’s Ice Hockey team in the American Collegiate Hockey League Division I from 2010 through to 2022. Since 2022, the Williamsville native has served as the director of hockey development with the Golden Griffins in the ACHL.
Hurtubise is also an assistant skills coach for the National Hockey League’s health and wellness program of the on-ice officials.
He will serve as the goalies coach and will help with budgeting, fundraising, local and out of season recruiting.
Hurtubise has made coaching stops at the Tonawanda Lightning Travel Hockey, Maryvale and Depew High Schools, as well as the Amherst Knights, Depew Saints & Wheatfield Blades AAA & AA Travel Hockey clubs.
The St. Bonaventure University graduate was a four-year starting goalie, earned First Team All-Conference recognition and earned an Olympic try-out in 1980.Â
