Richard Luczak was hired in the summer of 2025 to complete Head Coach Brian Becker’s staff for the Hilbert College women’s ice hockey program. In his new role as Director of Hockey Operations, Luczak will oversee all organizational aspects of the program, including budget management, travel coordination, and logistical planning.
Luczak brings a strong background in education, operations, and athletics to the role. He is entering his eighth year as an educator in the Buffalo area and has served as a mathematics teacher at the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart since 2024. His previous teaching experience includes positions at Hamburg High School, Saint Francis High School, and St. Mary’s Elementary School.
In addition to his work in education, Luczak has been actively involved in community organizations, contributing to research, planning, and budget oversight. He also has extensive experience in coaching and officiating, which has further prepared him for this transition into collegiate athletics administration.
Luczak holds a Bachelor of Arts in Middle and Adolescent Education from Niagara University and a Master’s degree in Literacy Instruction.
