Paul Crowley

Paul Crowley became Melissa Graham’s first hire after she was named the women’s basketball head coach in 2015.  Crowley brings a wealth of coaching experience as well as a proven record of organizational and social skills necessary to assist Graham in the pursuit of a winning program.
 
After 31 years of overseeing a number of student programs at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf (Buffalo), Crowley retired to enjoy his family and many other important assets he has accumulated throughout the years. 
 
Crowley is an experienced educator and will provide coach Graham assistance with scouting reports, film breakdown and recruiting.    
 
Crowley most recently spent the last two seasons on the sidelines assisting the Mount Mercy girls’ basketball team.   The Magic were crowned the New York State Class B champions at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.  Prior to coaching at the all-girls, catholic high school, Crowley served as a three-year assistant coach at Williamsville North (2010-13) and helped guide the Spartans to a Section VI championship in 2011. 
 
Crowley has been involved in basketball year-round having directed several girls’ teams in the Buffalo Defenders AAU organization since 1996.
 
The South Buffalo resident was a long-term supporter of athletics when he served as SMSD’s Director of Student Affairs.  He helped secure and facilitate the use of athletic facilities and has planned and supervised numerous tournaments for a variety of organizations.   
 
He is most proud of the life-long relationships he established with his former players as well as the SMSD students and their families. He continues to advocate for individuals with special needs even while in retirement.
 
Crowley earned a bachelor's  in social work and a master's in multidisciplinary studies from  the State University of New York at Buffalo.
