Hilbert College Athletics

John Jay Hall joined Amy Senefelder’s basketball staff at the beginning of the 2017-18 season.  Coach Hall is no stranger to women’s basketball, nor Hilbert College as he has been coaching and recruiting for the softball program since 2013.

Prior to becoming the Hawks softball head coach in 2016, Hall developed his strategies and found success at Tonawanda High School, dating back to 1986.  

From 1986-1991, Hall served as a boys’ basketball coach both as a head coach and an assistant coach at Tonawanda. And then in 2008, Hall returned to the hardwood as the girls’ varsity basketball coach.  His 2014 Warriors represented Section IV in the New York State Final Four play-offs after they won the Section VI Class B girls’ basketball title. 

Hall was the varsity softball coach for Tonawanda for 26 years (1986-2012) accumulating 237 wins.  During that span, his Warriors won two league championships (1992, 2001) and competed in three NYS Section VI Class B championship games (2000, 2001, 2002).  Hall currently serves as the Chairman of Section VI High School softball and is also on the high school state softball committee.
