Former Hilbert College men's basketball standout Cody Troutman ('12) begins his ninth year in the role of assistant men's basketball coach. The former Hawks team captain assists with all facets of the program including recruiting, scouting, and practice and game-day planning.
Troutman has worked numerous summer basketball camps including those at Hilbert College, Fredonia State, and Jamestown Community College. He also holds high school coaching experience after spending the 2010-11 season as the associate head coach at Pine Valley High School – where Troutman stared in leading the Panthers to the 2005 New York State Class D state semifinals as a player. With 1,520 career points scored, he is still Pine Valley High School's all-time leading scorer.
As a collegian, Troutman was recognized as a 2009 NJCAA Region III second-team selection during his second season at Jamestown Community College before finishing his career at Hilbert in 2012. In his senior campaign Troutman helped lead the Hawks to the semifinals of the 2011-12 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament while finishing the season third on the team in assists, steals, and assist/turnover ratio.
Troutman was an AMCC All-Academic selection in 2011 and was also recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in 2012. He holds an A.A. in business administration from Jamestown Community College and a B.S. in the same area of study from Hilbert College.
