Coach Drew Fittry is pleased to announce the addition of Thomas Evans to the Hilbert Baseball coaching staff for the 2024-25 academic year. The Hilbert ‘23 alum will be tasked with overseeing the Hawks outfielders, position players strength & conditioning and assisting with fundraising efforts.
The former Hawk left his mark on the program. Evans finished a storied career as the Hilbert All-Time leader in batting average (.402), slugging percentage (.723), on base percentage (.498) and OPS (1.221).
In 2023, Evans had a season to remember, setting new single-season program records in home runs (12), runs scored (59), total bases (130), slugging percentage (.798) and OPS (1.315) while leading the Hawks to their first AMCC conference championship game appearance in program history. The Orchard Park native was rewarded for his strong play by earning First Team All-AMCC, First Team All-Region 7 and Third Team All-American honors.
Prior to his time at Hilbert, Evans attended Orchard Park High School where he had a decorated varsity baseball career. The former Quaker earned First Team ECIC I honors in back-to-back seasons and was named First Team All-WNY and NYSPHSAA Second Team All-State Class AA in 2018.
In addition to coaching here at Hilbert, the former outfielder currently serves as an outfield and hitting instructor for the Western New York Prospects travel organization.
Evans graduated from Hilbert College in May 2023 with a bachelor of science degree in sport industry management.
