Ben Serrano

Ben Serrano enters his sescond season as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2023-24 academic year.

Prior to his time at Hilbert, Serrano was a five-year starting outfielder at Niagara University. During his time on Monteagle Ridge, the Purple Eagle played in 176 games, making 158 starts in the outfield. Serrano finished his career with 168 hits, including 52 extra base hits, 84 RBI, 104 runs scored and 38 stolen bases. He finished his career on top of his game, leading the team in batting average (.319), on base percentage (.437), OPS (.978), doubles (17), triples (2) and stolen bases (11).

Before Niagara, Serrano was a four-year starter on the Kenmore West varsity baseball team. After his senior season, he was named to the All-WNY First Team and All-State Class A Fifth Team, while maintaining scholar athlete status all four years of high school.

In addition to his playing career, Serrano served as an instructor at Niagara University Baseball Camps and Clinics from the summer of 2017 through the spring of 2022, as well as a strength and conditioning intern under Niagara’s full-time strength and conditioning coach, Matt Wietlispach.

The Kenmore, NY native graduated from Niagara in May 2022 with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.
