HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team opened both its home schedule and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play on Tuesday night at the Hafner Recreation Center, falling to Penn State Behrend in straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-12).
Hilbert battled throughout the opening set, keeping the score close early before Penn State Behrend pulled away late for a 25-17 victory. The Lions carried that momentum into the second set, winning 25-14, before closing out the match with a 25-12 win in the third.
Leading the way for the Hawks was Jordan Austin, who recorded three kills and a team-high 13 digs. Jade Schiller added 15 digs and a service ace, while Lindsay Madigan finished with eight assists and 15 digs. Riley O'Neill paced Hilbert's attack with four kills, while Kimberly Schmitt, Onolee Easterbrook, and Austin each contributed three kills.
At the net, Lezly McComber led the Hawks with two total blocks, including one solo stop and one block assist.
