HAMBURG. N.Y. - Hilbert Men's Lacrosse hosted Alfred State College in their final home contest of the 2026 season. The Hawks honored their four seniors,
Nathaniel Dell,
Aidan Franko,
Alex Krytus and
Kristopher Newman, in a pregame ceremony at Saint Francis High School.
Alfred State set the tone early, opening the game with a dominant first quarter that saw five different scoring sequences and a 5–0 lead. The visitors continued to build momentum in the second quarter, stretching the advantage to 8–0 before Hilbert found the back of the net. Despite a pair of unassisted goals from
Eric Capling to get on the board, Hilbert trailed 10–2 at halftime.
The Hawks showed more offensive life in the second half, with Capling completing his four-goal performance and additional tallies from
Jose Pizarro and
Kristopher Newman. However, Alfred State's balanced attack proved too much, as they scored in every quarter and finished with 10 different goal scorers, led by five goals each from Matthew Bridges and Joseph Pritchard.
Capling led Hilbert with four goals, while Pizarro added his first career goal and an assist and Newman chipped in a goal and an assist. Despite improved scoring in the final two quarters, the early deficit was too much for the Hawks to overcome.
Despite being outshot 75–26, Hilbert saw a strong performance in net from
Kody Moore, who recorded 27 saves while facing heavy pressure throughout the contest. The Hawks also battled on faceoffs, with
Alex Arthur going 12-for-29 at the X.
Hilbert will travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday to complete their regular season with a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference 3:00 pm game at La Roche University.
