READING, Pa. – Hilbert College Women's Bowling team rolled three traditional matches today on day 1 of the two-day Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Round Robin tournament at Liester Lanes.
Prior to the start of the tournament today, the AMCC league honored their seniors in a brief ceremony. Hilbert's
Victoria Hanley and
Paige Mullen were joined by ladies from Penn State Behrend and William Smith.
The Hawks went 1-2, earning a five-pin victory in the opening-day match victory over Pitt-Bradford (777-772) before falling to Penn State Behrend (774-718) and Saint Vincent (994-828).
Brooklyn Hannah rolled the highest match against Saint Vincent (190) and led the Hawks with a 171 average today in three matches. Out of 49 bowlers today, the rookie finished 17
th overall
As a team, Hilbert average 154.9 per match while their opponents averaged a 169.3.
Hilbert (23-35), after improving to 5-4 in league play this afternoon, returns tomorrow to finish the AMCC only competition against Pitt-Greensburg, Alvernia and William Smith. The Hawks, currently in 6th place (with a total pin fall of 2,323), must hold their lead over Pitt-Greensburg who trails by 672 pins.
