ERIE, Pa. – Hilbert College Women's Bowling concluded competition at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Sunday, facing three NCAA Division I opponents in Baker play before earning an eighth-place finish at Rolling Meadows.
The Hawks opened the day against Niagara University, posting an 800-908 Baker score before recording their highest Baker total of the weekend in a 900-936 effort against host Mercyhurst University. Hilbert closed qualifying play with an 844-888 result against Duquesne University.
Following qualifying, the Hawks advanced to a Baker Best-of-7 placement match against Le Moyne College. Hilbert picked up one victory in the series before Le Moyne secured the match, 4-1, to claim seventh place. The Hawks finished the tournament in eighth after competing against a field that featured several NCAA Division I programs.
Sunday's Baker competition capped a weekend that included strong performances throughout the lineup.
Brooklyn Hannah led Hilbert with a 17.6 frame average over 50 frames, while
Thea Nahrebeski averaged 16.7 over 50 frames.
Jenna Angle followed with a 16.2 frame average across 50 frames.
Freshman
Dayna Durmaj made an impressive collegiate debut, averaging 15.1 pins per frame over 40 frames during the tournament.
Paige Angle contributed a 14.6 frame average across 50 frames, and
Ella Voisin averaged 12.2 pins per frame over 10 frames of action.
