HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's basketball team dropped a 73-45 AMCC decision to Mount Aloysius College Saturday afternoon inside the Hafner Recreation Center.
Mount Aloysius (9-14, 7-7 AMCC) set the tone early, shooting 64.7 percent in the opening quarter to build a 27-11 lead and never looked back. The Mounties led wire-to-wire and extended the advantage with a strong fourth quarter to secure the conference road win.
Hilbert (3-20, 3-11 AMCC) was led by
Bianca Iten off the bench with a team-high 11 points, adding six rebounds and three steals.
Kayla Johnson chipped in 10 points and dished out a game-high six assists, while
Nyema Blair added nine points behind three three-pointers.
Learsi Sabala pulled down a team-best eight rebounds, helping the Hawks to a 28-36 rebounding effort overall.
Mount Aloysius was paced by Molly Kosmack, who recorded 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting and grabbed 13 rebounds. Annalyn Isaacs and Taylor Doyle each added 11 points, as the Mounties shot 54.2 percent from the floor and held a 44-16 edge in points in the paint.
The Hawks return to the Hafner Recreation Center for an important AMCC rematch against winless Pitt-Bradford (0-23, 0-14) next Wednesday February 18th with tip-off set for 5:00 pm
