LANSING, Mich. — Hilbert Women's Bowling made program history on Friday, competing in the state of Michigan for the first time while rolling five baker matches on Day 1 of the DIII Bowling National Invite.
The 2025–26 Hawks also reached a milestone, becoming the first team in the program's eighth season to record 20 wins after posting three victories on the day.
Hilbert earned wins over Augustana University (885–858), Carthage College (912–854), and Aurora University (825–818). Elmhurst University (967–805) and Carroll University (979–757) claimed victories against the Hawks in the two middle baker matches.
Jenna Angle (17.4), Paige Angle (14.5), Victoria Hanley (14.5), Brooklyn Hannah (17.6), Paige Mullen (18.1), and Thea Nahrebeski (17.8) each rolled 40 frames over the five matches, while Arianna Heineman rounded out the team effort with 10 frames.
Hilbert (20–30) returns to Royal Scot Lanes early Saturday for four total pinfall matches, followed by a positional Best-of-7 baker match. The three-day tournament has been reduced to two days, with all participating teams departing earlier than expected in an effort to avoid challenging travel conditions due to this weekend's forecasted snow and ice event.
