HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for January 19, 2026.  

Mia Aldaya (Women's Basketball) and Nikolas D'Andrea (Men's Volleyball) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week. 

Mia Aldaya (Miami, Fla./Mater Lakes Academy | St. Thomas) guided the women's basketball team to the program's second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference victory of the season as the Hawks finished 1–1 last week. The 5-foot-7 guard averaged 11.5 points and four rebounds in 33 minutes per game. Aldaya connected on 7-of-16 three-point attempts (43.8 percent) and posted a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. She knocked down three triples and grabbed five rebounds against Penn State Behrend before finishing the week 4-for-8 from beyond the arc to help lead the Hawks to a 49–45 road win at Pitt-Greensburg. 

Nikolas D'Andrea (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda HS | Medaille) led the men's volleyball team with 35 kills (.378), 5.8 points per set (46.5 total points), and 11 service aces during the Hawks' season-opening 1–1 weekend. The 6-foot-5 opposite hitter recorded a career-high 30 kills on a .444 hitting percentage, along with four digs and seven service aces in a 3–2 victory over Houghton University. He added five kills and five digs in a 3–0 setback to SUNY Poly.
