2025 ROSTER
The 2025 Hilbert College Football roster will feature several key returning starters, as well as an influx of exciting new talent with freshman making up over half the roster.
Captains
Brody Hopkins,
Bryce Robinson,
Drew Mascio, and
Scotty Winchell will be relied upon to lead the team on and off the field as multi-year starters.
Hopkins, a two-year starting quarterback, has completed 95 passes for 902 yards and four touchdowns in his career. Robinson returns as a key contributor on the Hilbert offense and one of Hopkins' favorite targets. The senior from Tucson, AZ has totaled 474 receiving yards, 185 rushing yards, and 512 return yards in his career. Running back
Mike Hanlon will also be called on to help lead the Hilbert offense after an impressive freshman campaign that saw him earn Second-Team All-Empire 8 honors. The Brocton, NY native tallied 489 rushing yards with three scores on the ground last fall.
Mascio is back for his second year with the Hawks and will look to provide stability on the Hilbert offensive line after starting all ten games a year ago.
Winchell, a linebacker that recorded 50 tackles in 2024, will lead a defensive unit that returns starters on all levels.
Clifford Zeigler (22 tackles, 3.5 TFL), and
Sherrad Patterson II (18 tackles, 4.5 TFL, 1 INT) will look to anchor the defensive line, while
Neven Dermady (15 tackles, 2 PBU) and Da'Von Cockrell (48 tackles, 2 PBU, 1 INT) will lead the secondary of the Hawks.
THE 2025 SCHEDULE
Hilbert's 2025 season features three consecutive home games in September and a pair late in the season, one home in October and the final in November.
The Hawks open the year September 6th on the road at Saint Vincent College (Pa) before they host a trifecta at home against Alfred State College, Ithaca College, and Buffalo State University.
Hilbert hits the road for back-to-back Liberty League contests against St. Lawrence University and the University of Rochester.
The Hawks sandwich home games against RPI and Hobart College around a road game at Union College before they close the season at Hartwick College.

COACHING / SUPPORT STAFF
Ted Egger enters his third season as the head coach of the Hilbert Hawks Football program this fall. Egger, who heads into 2025 with 25+ years of collegiate coaching experience, is joined by a mix of new and returning coaches on his staff.
Aron Aydelott (Offensive Coordinator),
Henry Baxter (Offensive Line Coach), and
John Noel (Defensive Line Coach) all return to Egger's staff, while
Justin Mott and
William Goldsworthy begin their first seasons with the Hawks in 2025.
Herb Kauderer continues to support the Football program by serving as the team's Faculty Team Advisor. He is an additional source of academic support and serves as a resource regarding academic issues for the Football student-athletes and coaches.
