Volleyball Extends Win Streak To 8 Games After 1st Win Over Fredonia State

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team continued its strong 2025 campaign with a convincing 3-0 sweep of non-conference opponent Fredonia State Tuesday night inside the Brad Hafner Recreation Center.

Tonight's win marks the program's first victory over Fredonia State dating back to the 1998 season which saw the Hawks go 0-17 against the Blue Devils.

Hilbert controlled the match from start to finish, earning set victories of 25-12, 27-25, and 25-11, and outpacing Fredonia in nearly every statistical category — including kills (36-24), service aces (11-4), and team hitting percentage (.221 to .019).

Hilbert improved to 11-6 overall, while Fredonia State dropped to 3-10.

Match Leaders – Hilbert Hilbert set the tone early, hitting an efficient .250 in the opening set while limiting Fredonia to a -.139 clip. The Hawks showed grit in a tight second set, rallying late to edge out a 27-25 win, before closing the match with a dominant 25-11 third set powered by a strong service run and consistent attacking.
Team Comparison
  • Kills: Hilbert 36 | Fredonia 24

  • Blocks: Hilbert 4 | Fredonia 2
  • Hitting %: Hilbert .221 | Fredonia .019

Hilbert continues to chase the record-setting 2012 season which saw those Hawks establish a 12-3 record midway through the season before they began conference action.
