HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for September 15, 2025.
Da'von Cockrell (Football) and Jade Schiller (Women's Volleyball) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week.
Junior Da'von Cockrell (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) set a new program record on Saturday with an 86-yard pick-six touchdown against Alfred State College. With just four seconds remaining in the second quarter, the 6-foot defensive back intercepted a pass and sprinted the other way to score his first career touchdown. Cockrell led all players with 11 tackles, including a team-best seven solo stops. Cockrell leads the Liberty League in Interception Return Yards and is currently ranked 2nd in the conference with 11 solo tackles.
Sophomore Jade Schiller (Marysville, MI/Marysville) has been a consistent force for the women's volleyball team all season long. The 5-4 libero helped lift the Hawks to a 4-1 record last week, sweeping their four opponents in the North Country Classic after falling to Alfred mid-week. She recorded 66 digs with a receiving rate of .935 off 107 services while adding six service aces and 14 assists. Schiller averaged 4.13 digs per set during the week and currently ranks 4th in the AMCC league with 4.63 digs per set through 12 matches.
