Jenna Angle Named Hilbert College Female Athlete of the Year

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Sophomore Jenna Angle has been named the Hilbert College Female Athlete of the Year, as selected by the Hawks' head coaches and support staff.

In just her second year of NCAA competition, Angle has made a significant impact on the Hilbert Women's Bowling program.

The 5-foot-3 right-handed bowler from Lackawanna, N.Y. had a record-setting season this winter. She became the first women's bowler in Hilbert history to earn Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) all-conference honors, earning a spot on the Second Team. Angle also propelled the Hawks to a third-place finish at the AMCC Championship—the highest in program history.

Angle led the team with a 177.9 traditional average and was the top individual scorer in five of eight weekend matches. She set a new single-match program record with a 255 game at the Niagara Brunswick Spring Classic and was named the AMCC Bowler of the Week on November 27.

Throughout the season, Angle also established new single-season records in:
  • Most Games Bowled (36)
  • Total Pinfall (6,403)
In Baker format play, she again led the Hawks with a 16.3 average, knocking down 5,425 pins across 333 frames.

Off the lanes, Angle continues to shine academically as she pursues a Criminal Justice 4+1 degree. A two-time AMCC Academic All-Conference and Peak Performer (3.5+ GPA) honoree, she also helped the team earn a National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team Scholar Award this spring.
