Softball Drops Game One at AMCC Tournament

BRADFORD, PA – Hilbert College Softball opened play at the AMCC Postseason Tournament today with a matchup against the conference's third seed, the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats.

How it Happened
  • The teams combined for just nine total hits and four runs in this low-scoring morning matchup. The Hawks used a pair of pitchers in the game as Alana Yadov started the game in the circle and went 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits, while striking out four batters.
  • Kailey Stolowski recorded the final two outs of the contest for Hilbert in relief, not allowing a baserunner.
  • Offensively, Jazlynn Soliz's sixth inning RBI single to score Brooke Feliciano represented the lone Hilbert run to cut the lead to 3-1 after the Bobcats opened the scoring with a two-run third, before tacking on an insurance run in the fifth.
  • Soliz, Feliciano, Ava Higgins, and Emma Gionta (double) earned the hits for the Hawks, while Gionta, Emily Lacki and Samantha Heppel each reached base via a walk.
