HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert Women's Lacrosse played their most complete game of the season tonight under the lights at Frontier High School when they hosted a rematch AMCC game against Alfred State College.
The Hawks were stride-for-stride with the Pioneers in every category except scoring as Alfred State recorded a 9-4 victory in the final game of the regular season.
Prior to the 7pm game, the Hawks honored their five seniors:
Gabby Calandra,
Courtney Geier,
Skyler Holzman,
Jessee Jonathan, and
McKenzie Walker in a brief ceremony.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Skyler Holzman led the defensive unit who forced a season-high number of turnovers tagged to opponents. Holzman added five more caused turnovers to her season total (24) as she established a new single season program record. Jewely Monford added a new personal record of three caused turnovers and ten different Hawks forced the Pioneers into a turnover.
- Olivia Cleary finished with 13 saves and extended her lead as the AMCC goal tender with the most saves in 2025 (144).
- Jessee Jonathan paced the offense with two scores and Gabby Calandra was a workhorse at both ends of the field, adding two assists.
- Jacqueline Alaburda gave the Hawks a huge lift in the second half when she battled for three draw control wins which allowed Hilbert another offensive opportunity.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a slow first quarter, both teams entered the second session, knotted at 1-1 as Jonathan scored her first goal midway through the period.
- A-State scored eight consecutive goals, split equally between the second and third quarter as they jumped out to a 9-1 advantage.

Madison Matuszak finished Calandra's pass for the final hit of the game.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Hilbert went 16-28 in clears, one of their best performances going from defensive to offense. Madison Matuszak did a great job carrying the ball through attacking defenders and made pin-point passes for looks at the goal.
