Women's Lacrosse Bows Out of AMCC Postseason Tournament

PITTSBURGH, Pa.  – Hilbert Women's Lacrosse suffered a 13-3 loss to No. 1 La Roche University in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference semifinal game this afternoon.

The Hawks, after falling to the undefeated Redhawks by the score of 21-6 two weeks ago, made things interesting through three quarters today. 

After scoring back-to-back goals, Hilbert made it a six-point margin early in the fourth quarter before the hosts went on a 5-goal run to pull away for good.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jessee Jonathan (2) and Olivia Horn (1) scored all three unassisted goals for Hilbert.
  • After forcing La Roche into 26 turnovers, Hilbert was credited with only two caused turnovers, both earned by Jonathan.
  • Samantha Accurso won four draw controls and Jewely Monford shared team-high honors with Jonathan after scooping three ground balls.
  • Olivia Cleary, through 57:14 minutes, finished with 10 saves before Alexandria Stoddard closed the game in net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hilbert kept La Roche in check the first nine minutes of the opening quarter.  The Hawks forced six La Roche turnovers before the first score at 4:20 and almost matched the Redhawks in offensive production (4-6).
  • La Roche went on a 5-goal run, scoring four hits in the second quarter before tacking one on midway through the third session.
  • Jessee Jonathan and Olivia Horn finished two offensive possessions with points, at 1:58 in the third, and less than thirty-seconds into the fourth quarter.
  • La Roche turned up the heat after the Hawks sliced the margin to six goals (8-2). The hosts closed the game with another multi-goal run setting a 13-2 score before Jonathan recorded the final goal of her collegiate career with 1:51 remaining.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Hilbert was credited with only 12 clear attempts but were successful in 10. 
  • Today's game was the closest statistically with La Roche holding a six-shots on-goal margin (19-13), shots (31-21), and forced La Roche into more saves that the Hawks (13-10)
Hilbert concluded the 2025 season with a 1-11 record (0-6 AMCC) under first-year head coach Brandon Bitka.

La Roche will face No. 2 Mount Aloysius in the AMCC Title game after the Mounties recorded a 12-3 semifinal win over Alfred State College today.
