Game One: Hilbert 0 – Houghton 10
Game Two: Hilbert 8 – Houghton 5
Game One:
- After a scoreless opening frame, the hosting Highlanders produced runs in each of the next three innings, as one-run efforts in the second and third, followed by a three-run fourth inning made it a 5-0 game.
- The Hawks got a pair of runners on base in both the fifth and sixth innings looking to get back in the game, but the team was unable to string together a late-game rally.
- Houghton tacked on five more runs in the bottom of the sixth to double the lead, before a scoreless seventh inning from the Hawks completed the shutout and dropped Hilbert to 14-14 on the year with the 10-0 loss.
Game Two:
- Following eight straight runless frames to begin the day, the Hawks finally got on the board in the top of the second inning with a pair of runs to open up an early 2-0 advantage. Reed Lesmeister's RBI single and Haynes' RBI hit-by-pitch scored Hendrix and Ellison four the two-run lead.
- However, after a quick top half of the third inning by the Hilbert offense, the hosts struck twice in the bottom of the frame to knot the contest at two all on a two-run single.
- The Hawks would quickly answer with two more runs of their own as John Watson's sacrifice fly scored Hendrix, before Haynes' second RBI of the game brought in Ellison to make it a 4-2 game.
- Houghton responded with a run off a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 4-3, but the game's next four runs belonged to Hilbert as the Hawks grabbed their largest lead of the game in the sixth inning.
- After taking advantage of an error in the top of the fifth to regain the two-run advantage, the Hawks added three more insurance runs in the top of the sixth. Patrick Evans' RBI double, followed by a Nolan Evans sacrifice fly and a Duffek RBI single made it an 8-3 ballgame.
- Houghton would add a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Alessi and Walsh each came in to record an out and deny the hosts of a comeback as the Hawks took game two, 8-5.
