CRESSON, Pa. – Hilbert Women's Lacrosse suffered a 15-3 rematch defeat at Mount Aloysius College this morning.
The 1-9 Hawks slipped by the same margin just two weeks ago in Hamburg and dropped to 0-5 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference standings.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Madison Matuszak led the Hawks with four draw controls and scored one goal while Jessee Jonathan recorded her score off a free-position shot. Olivia Horn added the final goal off her only shot of the day.
- Olivia Cleary was credited with a new career-high 21 saves, five off them coming off free-position shots by the Mounties. She is chasing the single-game record of 22 saves set in 2019.
- McKenzie Walker led with six ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks, who trailed by seven goals at the start of the third quarter, scored their first point after Jonathan worked her way towards the goal. She made their defense pay with a free-position goal at 13:00.
- After the Mounties tacked four more goals together, Matuszak gave the Hawks their second goal (5:37) and Horn connected four minutes later with the third unassisted Hilbert score.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Hilbert attempted just seven shots to Mount Aloysius' 45, collected 21 ground balls and won 8-of-22 draw controls.
