HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert Men's Lacrosse started slowly but exploded after seven minutes of action, coasting to a 20-9 non-conference win over Elmira College in the Hawks' final home game of the 2025 season.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Joey DiMaria, needing only eight goals to reach 100 in his four-year career, pounded the Soaring Eagles with 16 shots on-goal and recorded 10 goals, a new single-game scoring record. He added his career-high eight ground balls as well. After netting just two hits in the first half, DiMaria connected with eight scores in the final 30 minutes to break the previous record set by Matthew Simon, '17.
- Jason Sage added two goals, and an assist in addition to a career-high nine ground balls, while Ethan Barlow dished two assists and scooped seven ground balls in their final home game of their careers.
- Mason Shehadi (5 ground balls) and Imari Jenkins were both credited with a game-high three caused turnovers and Griffin Miller, after leaving the game briefly in the third quarter, finished the game with 14 saves, 11 in the first half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elmira got on the board just 33 seconds into the contest and maintained their confidence over the next eight minutes. They outshot the Hawks 17-10 (9-5 on-goal) and recorded a 16-7 advantage in ground balls in the opening quarter.
- Hilbert got their footing and responded with three different Hawks scoring before the start of the second quarter which gave them a 3-1 lead.
- DiMaria and Newman added their second hits in the second quarter as Hilbert built a 7-2 advantage going into half time.
- Elmira scored again early in the third quarter before DiMaria stacked four of Hilbert's six goals, and then he went for broke in the fourth session.
- DiMaria recorded his 100th career goal with 5:44 remaining but continued to press and tacked two more on by the final horn to establish a new single-game scoring record of 10 goals.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Ty Franko was very involved, dishing four assists when not scoring four of his own goals off six shots on goal.
- Kristopher Newman added two goals and an assist while Nathaniel Dell and Aidan Franko chipped in one goal each.
- Kody Moore won 7-of-16 in the faceoff X when not subbing in for Miller for 6:32 minutes.

Hilbert, 4-6, concludes their regular season schedule with an AMCC game at Alfred State April 23 before the conference play-offs begin one week later, April 30th.
