DiMaria Posts Seven Points In Win

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Hilbert College Men's Lacrosse opened their 2025 season with an impressive 14-4 road win at Thiel College this afternoon inside the Rissell-Schreyer Dome.

The Hawks outscored the Tomcats 9-2 in the second half which broke the two-game skid against Thiel.

Joey DiMaria recorded seven points off six goals and paced the Hawks with 16 shots while Ty Franko dished four assists. Jonathan Roustum led the defensive charge with five ground balls and Taivaughn Roach was credited with a team-best three caused turnovers.

Griffin Miller tacked another win to his career stats after covering the frame for almost 58 minutes while making 12 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hilbert broke open the game with five consecutive unassisted goals.  DiMaria tallied the first two, Ethan Barlow recorded a man-down hit and Kristopher Newman finished that run through the first ten minutes of the quarter.  Ty Franko found his first before the start of the second session with a 5-2 Hilbert lead.
  • Thiel opened the scoring six minutes into the third quarter after a scoreless second session from both teams.
  • Franko set-up DiMaria for the first of four 3rd Q Hilbert goals, and in what might be a first for the program, the Hilbert goalie was credited with an assist to a Hilbert defender. Johnathan Roustum recorded his first collegiate goal and Miller earned his fifth career assist at 4:31.
  • Newman and Jason Sage lifted the Hawks to a six-goal advantage by the start of the 4th quarter. Hilbert stretched their hold on the game with five-unanswered scores by the final horn.
  • DiMaria tacked on three, Bryan Jasrzab earned his first Hilbert goal and Franko snuck another in before he closed the game with back-to-back assists in the 14-4 victory.
