HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert Men's Lacrosse had their hands full today when they hosted NAIA Mount Vernon Nazarene University at Frontier High School today.
The 13-3 Cougars dominated the face-off X, scoring multiple quick hitters, as they rolled to a 19-2 victory.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Ethan Barlow scored an an-assisted hit and Joey DiMaria finished a Jason Sage feed for the two Hilbert scores.
- Griffin Miller collected nine saves in 23:54 minutes before Kody Moore finished the game with 10 saves over the final 36 minutes of action.
- Mason Shehadi recorded four ground balls many off Jonathan Roustum's four caused turnovers.
- Hilbert was credited with 10 shots, six on goal, while the Cougars dominated their offensive end of the field with 38 shots on goal.
- The Hawks were tagged with 27 turnovers, ten off failed clear attempts (18-28) and won 3-of 24 face offs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mount Vernon exploded for quick scores multiple times directly off face offs.
- Barlow broke the 6-goal run by the Cougars in the opening quarter when he took the ball to the back of the net with 60-seconds left on the clock.
- MVNU stacked 13 unanswered goals together before DiMaria and Sage hooked with 10:25 on the game clock in the fourth quarter.

Hilbert (2-4) opens the most important part of their game schedule next week when they welcome first-year-program Pitt-Bradford to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action. The Hawks will host the 2-5 Panthers at Saint Francis High School with a 12 noon face off.
