GREENSBURG, Pa. – Hilbert College Women's Bowling team returned to action for the first time this semester at the AMCC Round Robin Tournament rolled at Hillview lanes in Greensburg.
The Hawks, who haven't competed since the end of November put up some great numbers today when they competed against the top two teams in the league and set the program's single match pin-victory as going 1-3 today.
In their third match of the day, the Hawks beat La Roche University by 230 pins (792-562), the largest margin of victory in program history.
Hilbert dropped their opening match to undefeated Saint Vincent College (882-800) and closed the day with an 810-767 loss to last year's defending AMCC champion #2 William Smith College.
Pitt-Greensburg squeaked by with an 18-pin victory (743-725) in the second match.
Jenna Angle rolled the highest match against La Roche – 202 and led the Hawks with a 172 average today in four matches. Her 688 pinfall was the 7th highest total today.
Julia Stutz (156.3) and
Morgan Ebert (152) threw all four games and
Paige Mullen made her first appearance this season with a 148.5 average through four games.
As a team, Hilbert average 771 per match while their opponents trailed at 749.3
Hilbert (5-39), after improving to 3-8 in league play this afternoon, returns tomorrow to finish the AMCC only competition against Alvernia, Pitt-Bradford and Penn State Behrend. The Hawks, currently in 7th place, must improve their standings since the top six teams advance to the AMCC Championship Tournament.
