UTICA, N.Y. – Hilbert College Men's Volleyball suffered a 3-0 loss to SUNY Poly in the opening game of a tri match hosed by the Wildcats. The Hawks then swept SUNY Potsdam in three very tightly contested sets.
Three of the six sets played featured extra serves as the Hawks dropped a 28-26 middle set loss to the hosts and then grabbed a 29-27 and a 27-25 finishing touch in their win over the Bears from Potsdam.
Brad Converse recorded a personal best 3-set 19 kills in the night cap while leading the Hawks with 28 kills (4.67 kills/set) and
George Muriel finished with 47 assists (7.83 assists/set) and a team-best 17 digs (2.83 digs/set).

Hilbert finished the three-set match recording 34 points off 29 kills (15 errors) and a .152 attack percentage while the Wildcats collected 41 kills (16 errors) with a .250 attack performance.
The Hawks recorded four blocks, 1 service ace, 27 assists and 42 digs.
- Nikolas D'Andrea recorded a team-best .333 attack percent after recording eight kills (1 error) in 21 attempts while matching George Muriel with a team-best nine digs.
- Muriel passed for 19 assists and shared team-high honors with Mehkai Francis with two block assists each.
- Brad Converse added nine kills and eight digs.
5:00 PM vs SUNY Potsdam
Hilbert finished the three-set match recording 58 points off 45 kills (15 errors) and a .303 attack percentage while the Bears collected 42 kills (23 errors) with a .173 attack performance.
The Hawks recorded eight blocks, five service aces, 39 assists and 38 digs.
- Brad Converse established a new 3-set career-high with 19 kills (.342). His single-game, career high 21 kills was recorded in a five-set match and he previous reached for 19 and 20 kills, all in four sets.
- Justin Veal added eight kills and three solo blocks in addition to three block assists
- George Muriel dished 28 assists, added eight digs and four kills (0 errors).
- Jacob Sehn reached double figures with a team-high 10 digs.
