2025 Softball Schedule

Head Coach Dan Opera returns for his second season at Hilbert after a success-filled first campaign with the Hawks.

Opera was named the 2024 Hilbert College Sal Buscaglia Coach of the Year recipient as he led the team to a program-record 16 wins
and an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference playoff appearance.

The team will begin play this season in Myrtle Beach, SC during spring break with ten games at North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex
between March 7th and March 13th.

Upon returning home, the team hosts Houghton for a home non-conference matchup on March 25th
before getting into AMCC play on the road at Pitt-Greensburg on March 29th.

Following the conference opener, the Hawks will take on Keuka College, Fredonia, and Elmira College in a trio of non-league contests
before AMCC play picks up.

Seven more AMCC games occupy the month of April for the Hawks, as well as non-conference tests against Alfred State and SUNY Brockport.

In conference play, Penn State Behrend, Mount Aloysius, and Penn State Altoona will all make trips to Hamburg,
while the Hawks are set to travel to take on Greensburg, La Roche,  Carlow, Pitt-Bradford, and Alfred State.

Following the conclusion of the regular season on April 26th, two 3-team double elimination tournaments will take place on May 3rd and 4th,
before the two winners compete in a best-of-three series on May 9th and 10th for the AMCC Championship.

THE 2025 ROSTER

2025 Softball Roster

Opera's squad brings back eleven returners from last year's record-breaking team, while adding seven newcomers
that will look to offer immediate impacts to the program.

Hilbert, who was predicted to finish sixth in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll,
returns a pair of 2024 All-Conference Team members, as well as many key contributors from a team
that earned the first two postseason wins in program history.

Both Samantha Heppel and Alana Yadov earned AMCC Third-Team nods at the conclusion of last season in their first season with the Hawks.

Heppel, a transfer from ECC, hit .352 with a .846 OPS, 13 RBIs, and a team-high .414 on-base percentage, while starting all 34 games for Hilbert.

The Angola, NY native also contributed in the circle with ten strikeouts over 13 total innings pitched,
including a winning effort against Carlow in a crucial conference game (6.2 innings, four earned runs, four strikeouts).

Senior 3B/P. Samantha Heppel

Yadov will look to use the momentum of her outstanding rookie campaign heading into the 2025 season,
as she dominated for the Hawks as a two-way player in 2024.

That freshman P/1B led the team in OPS (.870), slugging percentage (.484), RBIs (23), home runs (two)
and total bases (45), all while finishing second on the team with 70.1 innings pitched.

The Angleton, TX native came up huge in the postseason for the Hawks, as she went 4-7 with an RBI and a run across the two playoff wins,
while also earning the win in the circle against Pitt-Bradford after allowing just one earned run in 4.1 runs.
Her clutch performances both at the plate and in the circle earned her a spot on the AMCC All-Tournament Team.

Joining Yadov on the All-Tournament Team was fellow freshman, Kailey Stolowski, who served as the team's ace all year in her rookie campaign.

Stolowski led the Hawks in innings pitched (111.1), wins (ten), ERA (4.15), WHIP (1.47), strikeouts (117), and opponents' batting average (.279).

The freshman pitcher contributed in a huge way in the program's first postseason victory.
Stolowski not only shut down the Mount Aloysius offense with seven one-hit, shutout frames,
but she also knocked in the only two runs of the game in the 2-0 Hilbert victory.

After just one season, she finds herself in the top five in wins in program history, while she also holds the top spot in career shutouts with four.
