NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - Hilbert Bowling returned to Rapids Bowling Lanes for a day of Baker matches in the Niagara Brunswick Fall Open.
The Hawks recorded a pair of Baker victories against AMCC league opponents but suffered three losses to scholarship programs.
Hilbert finished in 7
th place overall after beating Penn State Behrend in the best of 7 baker match (4-2) at the end of the day. The Hawks earned a 137-pin victory over Pitt-Bradford in the baker total pin fall series midway through the day.
Mount St. Mary's threw the highest match score against Hilbert (1007-772), Mercyhurst (987-850) and Niagara (979-854) both earned wins over the Hawks.
Freshman
Brooklyn Hannah continued to pop the pins today as she led the Hawks with a program record-setting 20.6 baker average after knocking down 1070 pins over 52 frames. Senior
Paige Mullen was very efficient on the lanes, rolling 42 frames with a 17.7 baker average.
Hilbert (9-11) returns to action next weekend when they travel to the Pittsburgh area for two, 1-day tournaments. The Hawks will compete in the Brother Pat Lacey Memorial tournament November 8 at Lincoln Lanes (Latrobe) and will then travel to Deer Lakes Bowl in Cheswick November 9 to compete in the Unicorn Invitational. Both events are being hosted by Saint Vincent College.
