ALTOONA, PA — Hilbert College Women's Soccer wrapped up its regular season this afternoon with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Penn State Altoona at Spring Run Stadium.
Goalkeeper
Keira McFarland anchored the Hilbert defense with an impressive nine-save shutout, her fifth clean sheet of the season. She turned aside several dangerous looks in the second half to preserve the draw.
Offensively,
Ja'Lynn Sanders led the Hawks with a team-high four shots, including two on goal.
Vanessa Van Slyke and
Kendall Shetter each added one shot on target as Hilbert pushed for a late winner.
The Hawks finished the match with eight total shots — four of them on goal — and held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Penn State Altoona's keeper Mya Torres stopped four shots to record the clean sheet on the opposite end.
The Hawks finish their AMCC campaign at 2-4-2 with the draw and the team currently sits in seventh place in the conference. Next week's conference results will determine if Hilbert qualifies for postseason play as a top six seed.
