Men's Soccer Draws Greensburg on Senior Day

HAMBURG, NY - Hilbert College Men's Soccer battled to a 1–1 draw against Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday afternoon in the team's final match of the season at home.

Before the contest, seniors Jacob Korte, Carter Burke, Jason Vullo, Jacob Donner, Ryan Michelsen, and Chris Smith were honored for their four years of hard work and dedication to the Hilbert Men's Soccer program in what was their final contest on Hawk Field.

When the game kicked off, Hilbert wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as junior Cam Murdie found the back of the net in the fourth minute. Murdie worked to win the ball on the endline, before he fired a left-footed shot past the Bobcats' goalkeeper for his sixth goal of the season and an early Hilbert advantage.

Greensburg pushed to find an equalizer following the Murdie tally, as the visitors sent a pair of shots at Nikolas D'Andrea's net in the opening half. D'Andrea stopped both attempts, highlighted by a 19th minute save that saw the junior goalkeeper react quickly from point blank to send aside a shot from Ethan Rose to send the Hawks into the break leading 1-0.

Pitt-Greensburg leveled the match early in the second half, however, when Brayten Sedor did just enough to beat D'Andrea after a pass from Rose in the 50th minute, knotting the score at 1–1.

Both teams continued to create opportunities and press for a decisive goal, but neither side was able to find the game-winner as the Hawks and the Bobcats split the points this afternoon in AMCC play.

With the result, Hilbert moves to 4-5-3 overall and 1-3-2 in AMCC play, while Pitt-Greensburg moves to 7-5-4 (4-1-1 AMCC).
