Women's Soccer Draws La Roche

PITTSBURGH, PA. — Hilbert College Women's Soccer played to a 1–1 draw on the road against La Roche University on Saturday afternoon at the Baierl Athletic Complex. The result moves the Hawks to 5–5–2 overall and 1–2–1 in AMCC play.

Hilbert wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Ja'Lynn Sanders netted her AMCC-leading 12th goal just under three minutes into the match. Kendall Shetter provided the assist, playing a ball over the Redhawks' defense that allowed Sanders to finish from close range and give the Hawks an early 1–0 lead.

La Roche found the equalizer in the 18th minute when Zaida Gonzalez Rosado converted from distance to level the match at one apiece.

The two sides traded opportunities throughout the remainder of the contest, but neither team could break through. Hilbert produced 13 total shots—six on goal—compared to La Roche's 12 shots and seven on target.

Sanders led the Hawks with eight shots and four on goal, continuing her strong offensive form. Mikaylah Nissan added four shots, two of which forced saves.

In goal, Keira McFarland turned in another steady performance for Hilbert, recording six saves while playing all 90 minutes.

Both teams created late chances, including several Hilbert corner kicks in the closing minutes, but strong defensive play on both ends preserved the 1–1 result.
