HOW IT HAPPENED, SUNY Canton
  • Hilbert battled back from multiple deficits and rallied from an 18-22 score to jump out front 23-22.  The Roos stacked three points in a row for the win.
  • The Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 advantage and still controlled the board through an 8-6 lead. Both teams battled through three knotted scores until Canton put a four-point run together which held through the 25th point.
  • The third set was tight, with multiple lead changes until the Roos took a 15-12 score and stretched it to a 23-14 margin which was good enough for the win.
McKenna Rice led with six kills while five other Hawks chipped in four each.
Natalie Ruhlmann added 15 digs and Molly McKinnon finished with 13 as Jessee Jonathan recorded 16 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED, SUNY Morrisville
  • Both teams tested each other early in the opening set, until the Mustangs scored nine-unanswered points to pull away with a 14-4 lead. Trailing 21-8, Hilbert trimmed the difference to seven points but couldn't get any closer.
  • In contrast to the 1st set, Hilbert took a 7-9 score and shifted it in their favor after stacking 11 consecutive points together which set the 19-9 margin and eventually the set victory.
  • Momentum shifted back to the Mustangs in the third, illustrated by their 9-0 lead. Morrisville stretched the difference to 12 and pushed through for the same separation in scoring by 25 points.
  • The fourth set found both teams trading points, but not leads.  The Hawks stayed with Morrisville much deeper into the set, trailing 15-11.  The Mustangs strung seven out of the next nine points in their favor to hold on for the match win.
14 Hawks saw action in this match with all 14 showing up on the stat sheet.
Jenna Revak and Jada Whitt led with six kill each, Jade Schiller (2 aces) , Revak (2 aces)  and Katie Kociszewski recorded 9, 8 and 7 digs respectively while Jessee Jonathan assisted on 14 of Hilbert's 27 kills.
