FREDONIA, NY – Hilbert Men's Soccer traveled to Fredonia this evening to take on the Fredonia State Blue Devils on University Field under the lights for a non-conference matchup. Fredonia tacked on five goals in the first half and added three more in the second half to take home the 8-0 victory over the Hawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hilbert was able to record the first shot of the contest as
Luciano Gallo's effort sailed just over the net 16 seconds in, but the next six shots belonged to the hosts. Three of these shots missed the target, but two found the back of the net as Fredonia jumped out to a 2-0 advantage 17 minutes in.
After a pair of wide shots by
Jason Vullo, the Blue Devils struck three more times before the opening 45 minutes were over to give Fredonia a 5-0 first-half lead.
The second half would be dominated by Fredonia as they outshot Hilbert 13-1 after halftime. These 13 shots would result in three more goals for the hosts as they took this non-conference matchup 8-0.

The Hawks return home on Saturday for an afternoon matchup with the Bobcats from Bryant & Stratton. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 PM on Hawk Field, with a ceremony planned prior for this year's senior student-athletes.
