PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Hilbert College Women's Lacrosse faced La Roche University for the first time this season when they traveled to play the Redhawks today.
The Hawks manufactured four goals in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest, but were outscored by nine, losing the game 13-4.
Four different Hilbert players recorded goals and
Katie Kociszewski collected 11 saves after La Roche unleashed 36 shots.
After building a 7-goal advantage after 15 minutes, the Redhawks tacked on three more scores before
Jessee Jonathan snuck one past the goalie at 7:13 in the second quarter.
La Roche ended the quarter and then started the second half with goals, with Hilbert mirroring their effort with a goal by
Courtney Geier at the end of the third quarter and another score by
Olivia Horn at the start of the final period. The Redhawks extended their hold once more before
Samantha Accurso tallied the final hit of the day with 4:23 in the game.
Skyler Holzman led the Hawks with four draw controls and Kociszewski earned team-high honors with four caused turnovers and five ground balls.
The 0-9 Hawks return to campus this week and will host La Roche 3-8 on Tuesday, April 23 in a 3pm contest on the Hawks Varsity field.
