BUFFALO, N.Y. – Hilbert College Women's Lacrosse hosted Wells College in a rematch from last Tuesday's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest.
Even though the Hawks suffered a 15-1 league loss, the team showed statistical improvement when comparing the April 9th box score to today's outcome.
Hilbert doubled their number of successful clears, increased their shot output, even off free positions, increased their number of ground balls, and won more draw controls while trimming their number of turnovers.
The Express built a three-goal lead by the start of the second quarter and held an 11-0 advantage by half time.
Olivia Horn scored the first goal in the third quarter off a feed from
Samantha Accurso at 7:22. Wells responded sixty-seconds later and closed the fourth quarter with three more hits.
Horn scored her third goal of the season while
Skyler Holzman won four draw controls and led the Hawks with three caused turnovers.
Samantha Accurso, in addition to her assist, added two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Jessee Jonathan shared team-high five ground balls with goalie
Katie Kociszewski who recorded 15 saves.
Hilbert concludes their season with back-to-back games against La Roche University. The Hawks will travel to Pittsburgh this Saturday and then host the Redhawks on campus Tuesday, April 23rd.
