MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Hilbert College Softball continued to roll in the win column this afternoon when they picked up two more victories on their second day of competition in the Fastpitch Dreams Classic tournament in South Carolina.
Kailey Stolowski improved to 3-0 and
Alana Yadov went the distance in the night cap while knocking in three runs for the 4-0 Hawks.
Game One: Hilbert 8 – Wilson College 6
Game Two: Hilbert 6 – Delaware Valley University 5
Game One:
After building a 3-0 lead through three innings, Hilbert tacked on five runs in the bottom of the fourth before their offense stalled. Wilson College manufactured six runs over the course of three innings and trailed the Hawks 8-6 at the top of the 7th.
Kailey Stolowski faced four batters in the 7th and registered her second complete game in three tries.
- Kaitlin Stolowski's double in the 2nd inning knocked in a pair of runs and Samantha Heppel grounded in the Hawks' third run in the third inning.
- Wilson tapped two runs in the 4th off a long triple to close the gap.
- Stolowski connected with a 3-run single to right field and Emma Gionta's sac fly scored Stolowksi in the fourth.
- Anna Faulkner's single plated Emily Lacki for Hilbert's final run of the day.
- Wilson's M. Heuer finished two at bats with a pair of RBI's in the 5th and 6th innings but the Phoenix ran out of gas against Kailey Stolowski in the 7th inning.
Kailey Stolowski allowed four earned runs off 10 hits, with a pair of walks and seven strike outs.
Kaitlin Stolowski went 2-for-3 and knocked in five runs while scoring one.
Victoria Hanley went 2-for-2 and
Mackenzie Catan earned two hits and scored two runs.
Game Two:
Hilbert started the game fast, scoring five runs in the bottom of the 1st. The Hawks found themselves in a 5-5 tie heading into the bottom of the 5th. Hilbert scored their final run off a fielding error to secure the 6-5 victory.
- With two outs in the inning, Delaware Valley connected with a triple in the fourth hole to score their first run and benefited from a single up the middle to take a 2-0 lead before the Hawks picked up their bats.
- After loading the bases, Kaitlin Stolowski reached on a fielder's choice and scored Makenna Smith. Two batters later, Yadov tripled to right and plated three more runs. Then after a quick pitcher change, Samantha Heppel scored Yadov for the 5-2 lead.
- Del Valley added a single run in the 3rd and manufactured two runs off a double in the 5th to knot the game at 5-5.
- Hilbert put the game away when Heppel reached on an error that gave Kaitlin Stolowski time to sprint home.
- Yadov faced four batters in the top of the 7th and pulled off her complete-game win.
Yadov performed in the circle and at the plate. She led the Hawks with two hits (a triple), three RBIs, one run scored and struck out six while allowing nine hits, five earned runs and one walk through seven innings.

The Hawks (4-0) have a day off from competition tomorrow, but return to action Wednesday, March 6th when they battle against Cairn University (9 am) and Saint Elizabeth (1 pm). All games can be viewed via live video provided by the North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Sports Complex.
