Hamm Nabbed Third Team All-Conference Honor

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced the 2024 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team and Award Winners today, and Alesia Hamm became the eighth Hilbert women's basketball player to earn repeat honors in a career.

For the second consecutive year, Hamm slotted onto the Third Team as voted by the ten league coaches.

La Roche's Machia Hairston was named the Player of the Year while her coach, Kam Gissendanner, grabbed another Coach of the Year honor.

Rookie sensation Molly Kosmack from Mount Aloysius College garnered both the Newcomer of the Year Award and the Defensive Player of the Year honor.

Alesia Hamm put the team on her shoulders this winter as the primary ball handler and scorer while also providing dependable leadership through a rebuilding season.

As it worked in 2023, Hamm's motor never stopped in 2024.  She led the AMCC in minutes per game (39.1) while doubling her offensive production this year.  She averaged 15.9 points (.402), 9.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for the 4-20 and 5-13 AMCC Hawks.

She led the AMCC in free throw attempts thanks in large part to her effort near the rim.  She either drove past defenders or outworked them for offensive rebounds. The 5-7 guard from Mount Mercy Academy in Buffalo finished her third NCAA season recording 382 points, 218 rebounds (94 OR), 69 assists, 30 steals and seven blocks.  She collected 12 double doubles during the season, scored a career-high 33 points in the overtime victory against Carlow and earned a season-high 13 rebounds twice.

Through 17 AMCC game played, she ranked 1st in the league in minutes per game, free throws made and attempted, 3rd in rebounds/game, 3rd in offensive rebounds, 4th in points and 5th in points per game.  Even after taking the forfeit win and losing the opportunity for 40 minutes of effort, Hamm still led the AMCC in total minutes played and free throw attempted and made.

Hamm graduates ranked in the program's Top 10 list in eleven categories, highlighted by her offensive rebounds average (4.2), minutes (36.5) and offensive rebounds (326).  She established a new program single season record this winter averaging 38.6 minutes per game over the 24-game schedule.
