Perez Placed on Second Team All-Conference

HAMBURG, N.Y. –  Edward Perez earned a repeat Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference honor today when the AMCC announced the 2024 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team and Award Winners.

For the second consecutive year, Perez earned a spot on the Second Team as voted by the ten league coaches.  The 6-4 forward from Clinton, NJ became just the eighth Hilbert men's basketball player to earn repeat AMCC honors in their career.

For the first time in many years, four different institutions are represented on the four major awards.  Tommy DiRienzo from Penn State Behrend was named the Player of the Year and Dwayne Jones from Penn State Altoona was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year.  Pitt-Greensburg's Trent Rozich grabbed the Defensive Player of the Year honor and Alfred State's Jack Dignan was named the AMCC Coach of the Year.

Edward Perez continued to impress in his senior campaign.  The 6'4 forward led Hilbert in multiple categories while averaging 15.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, highlighted by a team-best 27.4 minutes per contest for the 12-13 (8-10 AMCC) Hawks.

As he did in 2023, Perez was a quiet leader and did all the dirty work on the boards and in the lane this winter.  Perez recorded 383 points, 193 rebounds, 24 assists, 20 blocks and 18 steals.  He earned eight double doubles during the season, scored a season-high 26 points against Penn State Altoona, and matched his career-high 13 rebounds against Pitt-Greensburg while leading the Hawks in FG made, FG attempted, FT attempted, blocks, and minutes.

Through 18 AMCC games, Perez ranked 2nd in offensive rebounds, 5th in free throws made, 5th in total rebounds, 6th in rebounds/game, and 7th in field goals made.

Perez will graduate ranked in the program's Top 10 list in ten categories, highlighted by his offensive rebounds, defensive rebound average, blocked shots, blocked shots average, all positioning him in 5th.
