KENMORE, N.Y. – The Hilbert College Women's Bowling team went win-less on Day 1 of the Niagara Brunswick Fall Classic rolled at Classic Lanes in Kenmore this morning.
The Hawks went 0-4 against four quality opponents; Niagara University, Merrimack University, Mercyhurst University and William Smith College combined for a 986.5 average against Hilbert who finished with a 769.4 total pin fall average.
Paige Mullen (161.4 average) and
Ashley Dixon (158.8) were the two Hawks to throw all five matches, but it was
Jenna Angle who led with a 182.8 average over four matches.
Rachel Rechichi manufactured her best one-day performance of her young career, averaging 160.0 after throwing a career-best 198 against Mercyhurst.
Jenna Angle fired a 224 in the opening match against Niagara setting the tone early. Mullen led with a 171 against Merrimack and Rechichi tossed her 198 in the fourth match of the day. Angle led again at the end of the day, knocking down 171 pins.
Hilbert (19-37) returns to Classic Lanes tomorrow morning for three Total Pin Fall Baker matches (D'Youville, Roberts Wesleyan and Niagara) before they conclude the Classic with a positional round playoff game.
