HAMBURG, N.Y. - Hilbert College Women's Volleyball hosted their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match tonight when Alfred State College paid a visit to the Hafner Recreation Center.
 
The Hawks created excitement in the gym during the opening set but momentum shifted to the Pioneers in the second two sets as Alfred State swept Hilbert twice in one week.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hilbert opened the first set going on a six-point run to build a 10-5 lead, but the Pioneers responded and jumped ahead on the score board with a 20-18 advantage.  They stretched it to 24-20 but the Hawks forced a timeout after knotting the score at 24-all before ASC escaped with the win.
• The second set featured short rallies with the Hawks struggling to finish, especially after falling behind 13-3.  Twice the Hawks packed three points together, but they had too much ground to cover.
• The third set looked more competitive as neither team was able to gain much traction, playing through to a 13-all score.  Even after ASC set the 18-13 margin, Hilbert clawed their way back to a 19-20 difference but gave the Pioneers their final five points off miscues. 

Jenna Revak (9 digs) shared team-high six kills with Molly McKinnon (2 service aces).  Jessee Jonathan (15 assists) added seven digs while Natalie Ruhlmann chipped in eight digs.
