HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hawks held a 9-4 lead early in the first set.  The Lions roared back and took a 10-9 advantage before Hilbert knotted the game on the next serve. Altoona stacked a few points together every other rally to go up 1-0.
  • Hilbert looked strong in the second set, building a lead and never relinquishing it, even after the Lions forced a 23-23 score.  Jenna Revak recorded a kill and Natalie Ruhlmann scored the win off a service ace.
  • The hosts went on several runs, stringing together multiple points in the third and fourth sets for the AMCC match win.  Hilbert combined for 10 of their 12 service aces in the opening two sets but were able to add only two more by the end of the match.
Jenna Revak led with eight kills, but it was Lynndee Ickes who hit well, recording six kills (22 attempts) with zero attack errors.
For the third time this season, Natalie Ruhlmann collected 20+ digs as she finished with a season-high 27, and Jessee Jonathan performed well adding 19 digs and 22 assists.
