ERIE, PA – Hilbert Men's Soccer traveled to Erie this evening for the team's final AMCC regular season contest of the season. The fourth seeded Hawks were outmatched by the conference's second seed as Penn State Behrend came out on top to head into the postseason with a 6-0 victory.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

After an early stop from Nikolas D'Andrea, Behrend struck with three quick goals in six minutes to open up a 3-0 advantage in the 21^st minute. The Lions grabbed two more goals in the 30^th and 36^th minutes before adding a sixth and final goal of the half in the 45^th minute.

The second half saw less action than the first 45 as the teams combined for 9 shots after 21 total attempts in the first half. Four of the seven Behrend attempts in the half came on goal, with D'Andrea stopping them all to hold the hosts scoreless to keep it a 6-0 game.

GAME NOTES

• Nikolas D'Andrea made his first career start, stopping eight stops in 90 minutes of action between the pipes.
• Carter Burke and Jason Vullo each recorded a shot on goal for Hilbert.

Next time out the Hawks host the first home playoff game in program history on Hawk Field. Pitt Greensburg comes to Hamburg on Saturday, November 2^nd for a 12 PM kickoff. Hilbert won the only matchup between the squads this season with a 3-2 victory on Saturday, October 19^th.
