SUNY Brockport earned a spot in the receiving votes category of the D3football.com week 6 poll as the team comes into this week on a dominant three game winning streak. The Golden Eagles are outscoring their opponents (Wilkes University, St. John Fisher University, Hartwick College) 119-17 in this span, while posting back-to-back shutouts.
Defense has been the story for Brockport this year, as the team ranks among the top ten in the country in many defensive statistics. Red zone defense (5

th, 59 allowed) are all strengths of the 4-1 Golden Eagles.
Offensively, Brockport mixes the passing and rushing games evenly, with 1,089 passing yards on the season to go along with 900 rushing yards. Running back Isaiah Simmons comes into the contest ranked 22
nd in Division III with 537 rushing yards to go along with eight scores on the ground.
The Golden Eagles are coached by Jason Mangone, who has guided the Golden Eagles to postseason play in eight of his ten seasons, including three consecutive NCAA Division III Football Championship appearances (2017, 2018, 2019). Last time out, Hilbert enjoyed the team's best offensive output of the season, but the Hawks ultimately fell to St. John Fisher to drop to 0-3 in Empire 8 play. On the ground, Hilbert outgained the Cardinals 225-169, in large part due to the efforts of
Mike Hanlon. Hanlon rushed for a program-record 147 yards in the contest, including the longest play in team history as he ran for an 81-yard touchdown. Both
Taivaughn Roach and
Imari Jenkins totaled nine tackles on the day, while
Joshua Auman,
Xavier Johnson and
Da'von Cockrell each recorded sacks.

Mike Hanlon currently ranks in the top 30 of multiple Division III statistical categories as the Hawks continue to lean on the freshman running back. Hanlon's 795 all-purpose yards are good for 12
th in the country, while he ranks 26
th on a per-game basis with 132.5 all-purpose yards per contest. Hanlon also ranks third in Division III with 121 total rushing attempts.
On the other side of the ball
Taivaughn Roach continues to lead the Hawks in tackles with  54, including 2.5 for a loss and one sack.
Da'von Cockrell has been all over the field for Hilbert, recording 24 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, one sack, and interception, and a pass breakup. As a unit, the Hawks continue to improve against the run, and the team is yet to allow a 100-yard rusher on the season.
