HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hilbert won the first and third quarters (14-13 | 22-15) but after both teams struggled in the second session (6-4), Bradford closed the game taking the fourth period 18-10.
- Four different Hawks put points on the board in the opening quarter with Schlagenhauf scoring Hilbert's final five points to lift them by one at the start of the second session.
- The Hawks went cold from the floor and finally scored their first points off their 16th and 17th possession at the end of the quarter to pull back to a one-point game heading to intermission.
- Hamm posted an old fashion 3-point play then followed with a make from downtown to put the Hawks up 24-21 at the seven-minute mark in the third. Hilbert built a 7-point lead twice – the first off a-Catan make from beyond the arc – before settling in with a 40-34 lead at start of the fourth quarter.
- Hamm and Cusack extended the margin to 10 points (44-34) less than 45 seconds into the final period. Hilbert maintained their two-possession lead until the Panthers went on a 9-1 run at the end of the quarter, fueling their momentum for the come-back win.
