PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Hilbert Baseball split the DH against the University of Valley Forge this afternoon in a non-conference series played at Fr. Judge High School.
Valley Forge took the early game, 5-3 before the Hawks capped the day off with a 6-3 win, earning their first victory of the season.
Thomas Evans poked his third home run in four games while
Andrew Cole earned his first collegiate win on the mound and
Brendan Walsh set the baseball program's save record in the night cap.

- Valley Forge got on the board first again, but this game in the 2nd inning.The Hawks responded with a pair of runs in the top of the 3rd and then built a 5-2 lead in the 4th.Hilbert put the game away in the 6th, winning 6-3 after shutting down their bats in the bottom of the 7th.
- After spotting the Patriots one run, Hilbert loaded the bases in the top of the 3rd and used a Jack Duffek single to score two runs.
- Valley Forge, with two outs, scored a run off a walk, stolen base and single by their fourth batter, and they knotted the score at 2-2.
- Emmanuel McClain, Griffin McAndrews and Jairo Santos all earned hits that turned into three runs scored in the 4th, and Evans earned a walk and made it back home off a Duffek single that set the 6-2 score.
- Another walk at the start of the 6th by UVF led to their final run scored, and Brendan Walsh finished the game with back-to-back strikeouts before getting the fourth batter to groundout for the program's record setting 4th save.
- Duffek finished with two hits and 3RBI while Griffin McAndrews went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.The Hawks continue to run the bags, as Evans and Benjamin Ratajczak picked up a stolen base each.
- Freshman Andrew Cole struck out two, walked three, with six hits and three runs for the team's first win.
