HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Redhawks jumped out early in the first set with a 7-1 lead which they extended further to a 15-5 margin en route to a 25-13 victory.
- Maria Spinelli exploded with four kills in the Hawks first six points in the second set and that seemed to set the tone for the rest of the set. Hilbert never relinquished their lead and held an 18-15 advantage before stacking on seven points for the 5-16 win. Hilbert recorded 17 kills, and three service aces in the set.
- La Roche responded in the third, building a 12-5 score and that seven-point spread remained consistent through to the 25-14 final.
- Things didn't look promising for Hilbert early in the fourth set, as the Redhawks created a 13-4 margin. Training 22-11, Hilbert battled back to a 22-16 and made it a 23-18 difference before La Roche rolled to a 25-19 match victory.
