BUFFALO, N.Y. – Hilbert College built a commanding lead by half time and rolled to their first United East Conference victory in men's lacrosse this afternoon.
The Hawks had nine different players earn at least one point, as the royal and white were credited with 16 assists in their 20-3 road win at Medaille College's Color Park.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Brandon Bitka led the Hawks with four goals and four assists while Joey DiMaria lifted Hilbert with four goals and three assists. Play-maker Zach Blount chipped in five assists (1G) won all seven of his face-offs and added six ground balls.
- Kevin Doyle was credited with a team-best two caused turnovers and led the Hawks with seven ground balls while going 10-for-13 in face-off X.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks scored just 58-seconds into the game, scoring all six goals in an eight-minute span. Brandon Bitka collected three points in the opening period, scoring twice.
- Hilbert added five more scores before intermission with the final marker of the half at 0:06 by Kenny Dango.
- Bitka led the third quarter push with three more points and Brett Gomez opened and closed the third quarter with hits then turned it back on at the start of the fourth quarter with his third goal of the game.
- Hilbert manufactured four goals over a 90-second span setting a 20-0 lead early in the fourth quarter. The Mavs closed the final 8:20 scoring three times, two as man-up goals.
GAME NOTES
- Jason Sage (2G/1A) earned his first collegiate goal at 14:02 in the first quarter and Brett Gomez (3G/1A) tallied his first collegiate points today as did Ryan Davis (1G/1A).
- Griffin Miller (0 saves) earned the win, and Brandon Moore made his first appearance in goal in the third quarter while Matt Roche closed the final 15 minutes.
- The Hawks outworked Medaille holding a 46-11 margin in shots, 34-18 in ground balls, a 13-4 advantage in caused turnovers and won 23 of the game's 27 face-offs.
